Akashi’s and Kumi’s relatives working boar and kamoshika in Japan Friday, May 11th, 2012

Below are some videos of Akashi’s and Kumi’s relatives, from Tenro Kensha, working boar and kamoshika in Japan. Note the aggressive terrain Kai Ken must negotiate in order to hunt the kamoshika – a quarry the Kai Ken has hunted since long before the formation of the Kai Ken Aigokai (甲斐犬愛護会).

I think Okabe-san’s dogs show a lot of promise in that boar test! Unfortunately, good boar hunting Kai Ken are hard to come by, even in Japan. So it’s a real honor to have some of his bloodlines in our preservation efforts.

Kai Ken and Children Thursday, March 22nd, 2012

We get asked a lot about how our Kai Ken do with children. So we made these two videos to help show how good our Kai are with Chase, our daughter.

(please excuse the dirty floors)
